Today such a decision was agreed by the Head of Kharkiv Regional Council, Mr. Sergii Chernov and the Head of Lviv Regional Council, Mr.Oleg Pankevych during the course of internet video conference.

Kharkiv and Lviv regions are the cross-border ones with rich transboundary traditions. As noted by Lviv experts, a significant resource, for areas development is taken from the programs of such targeting. EU projects, in particular, bring the sums of million Euro to the local budgets, but they require the co-financing from the local budgets on the level of 20%, they do not have.

As the Head of Kharkiv Regional Council, Mr. Sergii Chernov, stated, the transboundary programs are literally of state importance. As, for example, the water-collecting area sanitation of the river Siverskiy Donetz, affects the interests of ecological security of both Ukraine and Russian Federation. This being considered, the state should be involved in co-financing.

Heads of the highest branches of representative authorities of Kharkiv and Lviv regions agreed to bring up this point to the central administration.
