On September 3, 2012, Lyudmyla Davydova, the Deputy Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council, made a working visit of Valky District. Together with Oleksandr Kholodny, the Chairman of the District Council, and Mykola Malyavin, the Head of the District State Administration, Lyudmyla Davydova took part in opening of educational and bringing-up complex in Novy Merchyk village.

The Deputy Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council congratulated the community of the that now, in addition to school the village has a kindergarten, and 22 children are now able communicate with their equals in age and obtain a quality preschool education.

Lyudmyla Davydova also presented gifts which will make stay of the children in the kindergarten comfortable and convenient.

The Novy Merchyk Educational and Bringing-Up Complex is already the fourth educational and bringing-up complex opened according to the Program of Development of Preschool Education. The depyties of the District Council approved a decision not to close low-numbered Novy Merchyk Comprehensive School of the I-III Degrees, and optimize and reorganize it in a qualitative way into a educational and bringing-up complex, opening a kindergarten in its base, the village had no more than 20 years.
