Artur Tovmasian, Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Council, got familiar with the problematic issues of preschool institutions in Merefa community.

According to Olena Nechyporenko, the head of Merefa early childhood center No. 3, heating has been the problem for the institution for several years. "This winter the situation has become more complicated. The temperature in the building could reach 16 degrees Celsius. We brought heaters so that the temperature would meet the established standards," Olena Nechyporenko said. She added that the boiler house, in addition to the kindergarten, provides heat to the school nearby, where it is also necessary to change the heating system.

This year, almost 1,450,000 hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget for the repair of a solid fuel boiler house in the kindergarten, which also heats the school. In 2020, the existing equipment was dismantled, metal and concrete constructions were installed, walls were waterproofed, exhaust, chimney and ventilation pipes were installed, electrical works were carried out, lightning rod with height of 8.5 meters was installed.

“The main repair works on the boiler house will begin after the heating season. We have funds for it. The institution also needs to modernize the entire heating system. Let's see how we can help. A comprehensive approach will provide the right temperature regime in the kindergarten, as well as save some money in order to spend it on institution heating,” Artur Tovmasian said, “It is the duty of the authorities, the duty of everyone whom the community has entrusted to represent their interests, to provide comfortable conditions in preschool institutions in Kharkiv region. I believe that with the joint efforts of regional authorities and communities we can do more for the development of the territories, the implementation of infrastructure projects.”

"Also during the working trip Artur Tovmasian got familiar with the work of another kindergarten in Merefa. Reconstruction of the institution began in 2018, about 9 million hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget. Works in 2019 and 2020 were financed in the same amount. The degree of readiness is 46%.

In 2020, the precast reinforced concrete foundation was replaced with monolithic one; monolithic floors were made over the first floor, the roof was insulated and arranged along the perimeter of the cement mortar screed, 765.54 sq.m. of the building facade was insulated, 1045.2 sq.m. of metal tile were mounted, ebbs were installed.

The community plans to finish building the kindergarten by raising state funds. The project will be submitted for approval to the State Fund for Regional Development.
