Artur Tovmasian, the Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Council held a meeting of the tender committee of the regional contest of the projects of local and regional development “Together into the Future” where the best initiatives of the communities were announced. 

“I congratulate the winners of the regional contest “Together into the Future”! According to the evaluation results of the committee, 31 projects were recognized as the best. They are all aimed at solving problems in communities and comprise all important spheres,” Artur Tovmasian said, “It is nice that the initiatives of our communities have found a way to implementation. I am sure, we shouldn’t be satisfied with what has already been achieved, we need to move only forward. The Regional Council always aims to support people in their desire to develop territories, create comfortable living conditions and upgrade infrastructure.”

There are two nominations in the contest this year. The first category of participants is village, settlement, city councils which are initiators of joint projects that were developed within the framework of cooperation of territorial communities. The second category is public organizations and unions which are initiators of the projects in partnership with local self-government authorities, other public organizations, structural subdivisions of local state administrations, scientific institutions, state enterprises.

“According to the results of the contest 14 projects were selected in category I, 17 projects were selected in category II. Total sum that is needed for their implementation is 46 million hryvnias, including 25 million hryvnias - the amount of funding from the regional budget, 20.5 million hryvnias - from local budget, funds of the contestants – 0.3 million hryvnias, partners funding – 0.2 million hryvnias,” said Liudmyla Nemykina, Deputy Head of the tender committee, Head of the permanent committee of the regional council on budget.

According to Olena Moroz, Secretary of the tender committee, due to the implementation of projects in 2021 it is planned to carry out general and regular overhauls of 5 medical institutions, purchase 21 units of medical equipment, purchase 7 simulators for the rehabilitation center, purchase 2 cars for primary health care centers, create development and leisure centers, restore 2 sports grounds, purchase 4 buses, equip the premises of the Center for provision of administrative services, arrange a solid waste landfill, purchase containers and arrange sites for separate garbage collection, etc.
Beginning of the implementation of projects is planned for April.  Organizing committee has selected 9 projects in Kharkiv region, 7 projects in Lozova region, 6 projects in Chuhuiv region, 4 projects in Bohodukhiv region, 2 projects in Krasnohrad region, as well as in Kupiansk region and 1 project in Izium region.

According to Sergii Chernov, President of the Association of Local Self-Government Authorities of Kharkiv region, Deputy of the Regional Council, over ten years of the existence of the contest, more than 2,000 projects have been implemented.

"Together into the Future" is a successful project that should only be improved in accordance with modern requirements. Thanks to the contest, communities not only solve local problems of social and economic aspects, but also learn to write projects correctly and then attract funds for the international technical assistance," Sergii Chernov said.

It will be recalled that in 2021, a total of 66 projects were registered to participate in the contest.
